The coronavirus outbreak has unleashed global health concerns, and India too is now facing a public health crisis. To avoid social contact and crowded spaces, several organizations are now mandating their employees to work from home.
Working remotely from home and conducting meetings and sessions virtually is a good way to weather the outbreak. However, organizations need the right tools to allow the employees to communicate and collaborate securely and seamlessly, so this does not hamper individual or organizational productivity.
If you are a small-and-medium business in India and have mandated work from home for your employees but don’t have the right tools, I can help you out pro-bono.
I’ll help you get started with Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is a unified communication and collaboration platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage, and application integration.
Teams is part of Office 365, Microsoft’s suite of productivity applications and cloud-based business services.
Microsoft offers a free version of Teams that gives you unlimited chat, built-in group and one-on-one audio or video calling, 10 GB of team file storage, and 2 GB of personal file storage per user. You also get real-time collaboration with the Office apps for the web, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. There is no end date.
Microsoft is also offering the premium version of Microsoft Teams free for six months to support public health by making remote work easier.
